FAQs

How long does the Preservation take?

Once flowers have arrived at Blooms facility, the process can take up to 18 weeks to complete from the time your blooms arrive. This timeframe depends and varies on many things, including the flower drying process because some flowers/greenery takes longer than others, client communication during design, the amount of pieces that were ordered, the mold chosen due to the many thin layers that are poured until completion of the project so the deeper the mold the more layers that are needed which means more time, and the availability of the chosen molds at the time of approval.

My Wedding already happened can you preserve my pre-dried Flowers?

Absolutely! Bloom would love to preserve your dried flowers, we work with brides pre-dried arrangements all the time! Just know that Bloom will not be able to enhance their color, shape, or condition. Bloom also offers a bouquet recreation option as well; we can recreate your bouquet with fresh flowers, we have done this option for many of our brides! If interested reach out us to learn more about this process!

When should I ship my flowers to you?

Bloom cannot express how important it is to get those flowers to us as fast as you can because the fresher the bloom the better it will preserve. With that being said I highly recommend overnighting your flowers to us within 24-48 hours after the event!

How will my flowers look after the preservation process is complete?

Color variations will occur naturally, there is nothing that Bloom can do to change the way your flowers react during the drying process. Pinks, reds and purples often darken while some colors lighten, there is no way to know what they will do ahead of time. White flowers sometimes may turn off-white/ brown and may turn translucent. Bruises can also be common in flowers and will only show themselves after resin has been poured by being translucent of being a different color on the petal. The best way to avoid this is to make sure you have chosen a florist who uses high quality flowers and to take extra good care of your flowers before they make it to us.

Bloom uses a high end casting resin, this means clear results. However, due to the handmade nature and the flowers having air pockets, some bubbles may occur. These bubbles can have a "water-bubble" like appearance that can be really beautiful! Due to the natural nature of resin, over time it will take on a faint amber coloring. But if cared for properly like keeping it away from heat sources and or direct sunlight, this shouldn't happen for many years to come.

I don’t see the size or shape I am looking for, do you customize?

Absolutely! We are all about customer satisfaction so if you don't see something that you have envisioned we would love to help you make that vision a reality! Just reach out to us and we will work with you to create your vision!

Why are there lines on the sides of my piece?

In order to cast your flowers in resin bloom has to pour many thin layers over time. As you may know resin when mixed and poured goes through a chemical reaction that will heat the resin. If we were to pour all the resin in at once, it can overheat your blooms and burn them. The lines you see are the different layers that were poured to create your piece. The thin layers allow the resin to cure at a desirable temperature so as not to burn the flowers. Due to the handmade nature of this product the lines are inevitable and cannot be removed.

Do your prices include shipping?

The cost of shipping your flowers to Bloom you are reliable for. We will handle the shipping cost back to you! You can find Blooms Shipping Guide at the tab at the bottom of our website. Just FYI, shipping your bouquet can be pricey but well worth it. Between the size of the box needed, the shipping carrier, where it's coming from, the weight, and overnighting it, the cost may be more than expected.

Will my Resin Art piece change in appearance over time?

I use only the highest quality of professional UV-resistant materials. It's important to understand that ambering or yellowing of resin is an inevitable effect from the natural aging process of the product, so your piece will develop an amber-like glow as time goes on and eventually become yellow overall. Keeping your resin art out of direct sunlight will help reduce the amount of time it takes for this to occur.

How do I care for my art pieces?

There are care techniques that you can follow for your resin art to maintain its beauty. First, you never want to display your resin in direct sunlight or by any heat sources. This includes but certainly not limited to lamps, spot lights, and heating vents. Please keep your resin out of any hot/humid areas. Use a lint free microfiber cloth to clean your pieces, you can even use a little water on it and gently rub. Never use harsh chemicals on your resin pieces! Any rough handling like, dropping, dragging, or scooting your resin across surfaces can damage or harm your resin art.

Can I add invitations, pictures, and or personal items in with my piece?

Absolutely, we add them in all the time! Please be aware if you are wanting an invitation/picture to be prominent through the backside of the piece there maybe some trapped bubbles that are visible. We do our absolute best to get every bubble we can out but with the way your artwork is poured into the mold we cannot see the backside until we de-mold your piece!
